Why am I the best choice as your Supervisor?
I am asking for your vote for supervisor to preserve and protect open space and farm land; to promote more public participation in decisions affecting our citizens and to insure that Kings County is able to provide its’ citizens public safety and other essential services in the most timely and efficient manner.
My Priorities
Preserve open space and farm land. Agricultural land, open space and water are among our most valuable assets. We must protect our environment and preserve our quality of life by resisting the urban sprawl that has begun to impact our county. I believe we need a Fifth District Supervisor who will lead by bringing all the competing interests to the table and developing smarth growth solutions. I pledge my integrity, creativity, experience and diplomacy to these difficult issues.
Encourage better retention of public safety personnel through honest, fair and frank negotiations. I will provide leadership in bringing all the competing interests to the table and developing solutions that everyone can buy into. I bring integrity, creativity, diplomacy and experience to this difficult issue.
Improve services for seniors, children, the disabled, and crime victims. As our population ages, it is essential that we assure that the elderly and the disabled be provided the assistance they need to thrive in our community. We must also provide resources for children who are victims of neglect or abuse and assure that the needs of crime victims are addressed.
Promote open government- Community involvement is discouraged by current Board of Supervisors practices. Meetings are always held during most peoples’ working hours, so people have to take time off work to attend. The people’s business should be conducted at a time when they can participate. Closed meetings should be avoided and citizen participation encouraged.
Build a solid county budget by pursuing all available state and federal funds. Our county does not receive its’ fair share of state and federal funds. We need to be far more aggressive in leveraging the tax dollars sent to
